I'm Kisha, owner and therapist of the Optimistic Counseling Practice!

I love helping career professionals, employed entrepreneurs, and business owners, who are ambitious high achievers, but feel stuck because of depression, anxiety, or low self esteem.

Millennials have a unique experience in today’s world. Between student loans, kids, dating, and working, it can feel like you’re drowning.

Some of us have to live with our parents, in order to save for a house, at the same age they were already married and raising a whole family!

And let’s not forget the ultimate workforce catch 22, “Sorry, we're looking for someone with 15 years experience for this job, even though you're only 30 years old”.

Listen, life happens and we’ve all been there. Adulting is hard and sometimes, you just feel stuck. Feeling stuck can look like this:

“I’m a career driven person who is ambitious and passionate about finding success in my life. But sometimes I struggle to define what success looks like for me. I’ll admit, some of the pressure that I feel, I put on myself. Plus, I have all these external expectations from friends, family, work, society, etc. I struggle with feeling unsatisfied in different areas of my life like my romantic relationships, handling stress, and my career/business goals".

The "Super Hero" complex can get the best of all of us. The pressure to be the best parent, best spouse, best significant other, best sibling, best child to your own parents, best friend, best employee, best business owner, or best student, etc is real but it's time to take off that invisible cape.

What I want for you, is to know that being strong doesn't mean suffering in silence or doing everything alone. Being strong means knowing when to ask for help, and most importantly, learning when to say no without feeling guilty.

No one knows you better than you know yourself. In therapy we work together to learn how you can shift your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that you can reach your goals and get your power back.
